Ok I'm back, sorry for the delay. I'm still in China with very limited internet access but I figured I better post this! If you had read the previous post, you would have been waiting for that "one thing" I did to skyrocket my article marketing results: ******************************************************* When I was beginning my Internet Marketing career, one of the main methods I used was article marketing (and this was years ago). It's completely FREE and it works great because I was short of cash then.
It brought tons of free traffic and these are long-term. Articles I wrote (and I didn't write many) years ago are still driving traffic TODAY. Just google my name and you'll see them.
One thing I did was taking a more proactive and aggressive approach instead of just waiting - and doing that ONE thing skyrocketed my article traffic overnight...
Want to know what it was?******************************************************* Ok here's the answer (and it's something you already know, nothing mysterious about it)... List building!Now there are many DIFFERENT types of lists you can build, not just a prospect or customer list. The ONE thing I did to improve my article exposure was simply to build a list of CONTENT publishers or what I call my "Publisher List".Meaning, I built a list of targeted website and/or newsletter owners who WANTED MY content so they can republish it! So everytime I wrote a new article, I simply emailed my "Publisher List" and saw my article published on scores of websites and newsletters overnight :-) This far exceeded the exposure my articles brought me, compared to just submitting to article directories. This is what I meant by being more aggressive and proactive in your internet business... GO OUT THERE AND GET RESULTS.Sitting and waiting and hoping ain't gonna make you rich. What's the most overused AND underused traffic strategy? The answer: ARTICLE MARKETING.If you've been online for any length of time, you'll know and had probably utilized articles as a source of traffic. Are you simply submitting your articles to article directories, hoping to have them published and picked up by website owners? There's nothing wrong with that, everyone does that. And here lies the problem - EVERYONE is doing the same thing! Submitting your articles is NOT article MARKETING, that's article submission.Marketing comprises of a lot more techniques, and it's the same for article marketing.And as with all things marketing, the more PROACTIVE you are, the more results you get.The above two statements should give you some food for thought. For example, I always suggest you RECYCLE your content. Turn your articles into a special report, blog posts, videos, podcasts or even affiliate tools, etc. An article is the most basic form of content/product creation. You can spin it into many other formats of a product as discussed above. This is what's known as LEVERAGE. Is Internet Marketing Dead??
I'm sure you have heard of Word Tracker - do you know you can see visitor trends and research keyword competitiveness with it too? It's not at the regular Word Tracker link but here: http://freekeywords.wordtracker.com/gtrendsIt combines keyword results with Google Trends, pretty neat. There's also the FREE "Wordtracker Academy" that provides tons of resources regarding keywords. You can utilize Google Trends itself to compare two different markets/keywords. I find this to be very useful when I need to see the demand for two different markets at once. For example, go to Google Trends: http://trends.google.com/Type in "golf,internet marketing" (without quotes) and see for yourself... http://www.google.com/trends?q=golf%2Cinternet+marketingIs internet marketing dead??May make more sense to go for other niche markets if you're a beginner... And if you already have an internet business in the "internet marketing market", use your skills to create OTHER businesses in different markets. Focus on creating one new niche business first. Then create a new one every other month. If one site makes you just $500 per month (VERY conservative), and in 3 months you have 3 of these, you make an extra $1,500 EVERY MONTH. You can go for the content site route, info product route or simply do affiliate marketing...or all three combined into one model .
This is what real internet marketing is all about - using the internet and what you know (from the IM market) to market any business online.
How about using what I've termed the "market shift method"?
This means you have a choice to "shift" your product positioning.

Work from home OR internet marketing?
Typing "work from home,internet marketing" into google trends again...
http://www.google.com/trends?q=work+from+home%2Cinternet+marketing&ctab=0&geo=all&date=all&sort=0 You'll be able to SEE which is a better market positioning for your product. This was one of the reasons why I positioned my product as http://www.workingfromhome.com/ instead of another "me too" product in the internet marketing crowd.
Why? It's a BIGGER market, that's why.
