How To Optimize Reddit Ads : Learning the Nuances Of Reddit Marketing

In our previous article, we had covered the basic steps that would allow you to start your first campaign on Reddit. So today, we will cover the various steps that you can take to optimize your Reddit ads.

Getting a good idea of how your Reddit ad works

Learning how your Reddit ads works to deliver traffic to you is an important factor. The first thing you would see on the front page of Reddit is the default landing page for all users that do not have an account.

This is a sample of the Reddit ad placement.

Now, with your ads, you have two choices, either you can have a small thumbnail with a short paragraph on the very top of the page, in front of every post, or a standard banner at the side.

While most people may choose to use the banner ad at this point, the post size ad is also a good choice if you have a good understand of Reddit.

With the top ad, you can capture their attention as and when they use Reddit. As you occupy the top space between the menu bar and the top post, your ad is in a prime location. This spot is directly above the very first post and it is the first thing that the users of Reddit will see when they login and access the front page.

While the content that is shown to them is less prominent that a giant square banner ad at the side, it will still be more visible to the users of Reddit than the banner ad because of the high chance that Redditors would see your post as they scroll from top to bottom.

Targeting Your Ads

Another thing that you should definitely take note of is your ad targeting.

As your ads will be running on a CPM basis this it is important that you get your targeting down. Or you may just end up selling your products to the wrong audience.

SubReddits

Subreddits are interest groups that work to provide the users, normally referred to as Redditors,  a space for them to share content about topics that they find interesting. What that means is that the content on Reddit  as a whole is divided by the subject or interest of that particular groups. These pages can have a wide variety of uses, and pages can be made for anything.

Targeting on Reddit is simpler than you think, as the general demographics available online will automatically sort themselves out as they will only subscribe to subreddits that they are interested in.

To choose the subreddits that you are interested, all you need to do is to search for a topic that is relevant to the interests of your chosen audience or demographic.

There are also related subreddits, and those will also be shown when you search for a subreddit so that you can easily select them. By selecting these subreddits you can target a larger audience without compromising your current ad effectiveness.

I hope that this article has helped you better target your audience on Reddit.

Advertising On Reddit

Reddit is a social media platform that works a lot like Pintrest, you can subscribe to boards that you are interested in, and generate a single newsfeed with things that would interest you. Out of the many content curation and aggregation sites, Reddit provides the greatest flexibility and variety of articles. The content on Reddit can range from deep, technical university articles and journals, to various forms of memes and jokes, on the same unique page for you.

Reddit is also a good choice for marketers, with a CPM model of advertising. However, what sets them apart from normal CPM is that you can target your niche and location with nearly no work at all.

Targeting On Reddit

Targeting on Reddit is split up into three main categories; namely interests and subreddits, location and time, and target platforms.

This allows you to choose who to target, where to target, when to target, and which devices to target. With this, you have the ability to target very specific demographics. For example, you can target people who like cats, people in the specific /r/cats subreddit, in Canada.

Targeting By Interests

Targeting by interests is the easiest way to select your audience, without thinking about the other relevant subreddits that you may know, you can reach out to the people that are currently interested in something with a general spread within a specific niche. For example, if i was advertising a dieting product i can just choose a health and fitness interest. By doing so i do not need to search for relevant subreddits that would be interested in my product.

Targeting By Subreddits

Targeting by subreddits is an option that you can choose if you are a seasoned marketer who is well versed in Reddit. By knowing the specific subreddit that would be interested in your product, you can charge into the subreddit that would bring you the most traffic, with the best quality. However you would need a good understanding of how Reddit works, and how you can best optimize to the subreddits that you have chosen.

Targeting By Location

Targeting by the user location is also another option that you can consider, this is pretty simple if you have a good idea of how you can optimize your content to the average redditor. By optimizing it towards a mostly americanized; english speaking audience you can ensure that you are able to capture only traffic from by such demographics by limiting all of your traffic to the major english speaking countries. These countries would have a similar culture as well.

Analysing your Bing ads

If you are interested in Bing Ads as a method of traffic, this is the guide for you!

Here, we are going to analyse a real scenario that we had used in order to drive traffic to a site.

But, before we get straight into the ad, let me show you how you can use the keyword planner to find the keywords that would best suit your ad.

Keyword Planner

Using the keyword planner is rather easy, just look for the campaign that you would like to run the keywords with, and you can get started with your keyword selection

One thing you have to note, however, is that not all keywords are the same, and they will result in different costs and provide you with different levels of performance. You will need to choose the keywords that will be the most effective for the ad that you would like to promote.

Seeing the campaign

Here, you can see the current campaigns that are running, and analyse their performance with the interactive graph in the center of the screen,

Even if you are not good with Bing Ads, you can still understand the simple graph made by your data. It will show you two line graphs against each other. Even with no experience you can do a basic analysis of your site performance over time. Here, you have a full control over your current running ads.

Under your ads section, you can see the selected ads that you are running for your squeeze page and their individual performance statistics. Once again, the graph can help you make sense of the data without you needing to mess about with a manual graph in Excel.

Analyse your data

Now that you have a basic understanding of how your Bing ads manager is supposed to work, you can now analyse the data that you get once you have an ad up and running.

CPC vs Clicks

One of the most important measurements is the cost per click vs the total number of clicks that you are getting on your ad, with this you can gauge your daily spending on ads, and select ads that can deliver a low cost per click with a volume that would be acceptable for you. By choosing the right keyword set you can reduce your costs without severely affecting the total volume of traffic into your site. By selecting the winning keywords, you can get the most effective ad out.

CTR

The click through rate of your ad is also important,, it is a good way to judge the effectiveness of the ad against the keywords selected for it. The click through rate is basically the total number of people who clicked on an ad against the total number of people who viewed the ad. A high CTR ad is a very high performing advertisement because the people who see it want to also see the offer that you have.

Now that you have a better idea of what you can do with Bing Ads, you can now run your own ads properly.

Making Youtube Ad Magic: Learn how you can setup your first ad up today!

So You Wanna Advertise On Youtube?

If you’re coming back from the other article, that’s great! If not, check it out here.

Let’s keep it short and sweet, seeing as you know why you’re here now. :)

Firstly, let’s start off by going to your Ad manager. From here you can click on the Ad that you are looking for. Seeing as we are making Youtube Ads, you can select the video option.

After this, you will be brought to the next page.

From here, you will now put the groundwork that will go into your Ad. In this page, you will put the settings that would allow you to your Ad work the way it should.

The first filed is the name of the campaign, this should be quite self explanatory, just key in the name of the campaign. You can call it whatever you like.

After this, you will now set the type of video Ad that you would like. The easiest way for you to have your Ad running is to use the standard setting. However, if you would like to promote an app, or some Ecommerce item, you will be able to use the other two options.

Now you will have to choose between In-stream or video discovery Ads or Bumper Ads, if you need a refresher for what these terms are, you can always refer to the previous article here.
From here, you will choose the CPM and the CPV cost of your Ad. If you would like a better explanation of these terms, you can refer to this article here.

You can manually bid for Advertisers to show your Ad, or you can do it automatically.

Manual bidding is better if you would like to keep your costs low, or if you have a good idea of what you are doing as is. If you’re new, you can always start off with automatic bidding on other forms of Ads, but for Youtube you can only bid for Ads manually.

Before you proceed to the next page, take a look at the Advanced Delivery Methods tab. Under this submenu you can set your delivery method, targeted locations and networks.

One thing to note is that you will have to target your local area if you are running a brick and mortar business, or if you are offering services in an area.

There are a few other options, but we can ignore these for now, you can always learn more about them if you like at a later date.

In the next page, you can set the video that you would like to use as the Ad, and the bidding amount. Another feature of Google Adwords for Youtube is the ability for you to set a higher bid from your current bid for popular videos. A higher bid here would encourage people to use your Ad more often for popular videos. And a higher bid overall would make it possible for more people to see your Ad.

Targeting

Another key factor in the success of your Ad is it’s targeting. You will need to know how you can make your Advertising capable of reaching the right audience.

Without the proper targeting, your Ad will not be of much use. Before you target your audience, you will need to know what you can do with the Ad targeting.

Demographics and Interests

The two main settings that you can Adjust are the demographics and the interests that you will be targeting. With the many choices available, you will need to think long and hard about the methods that you can use in order to reach your audience.

You can consider the general demographics first. Who will view your Ad? If you’re selling makeup you will definitely target women from 18 to 40, and if you are selling gym equipment you would target men from 18 to 40 too.

Secondly, you can target the actual interest group that would be interested in your products. You can either choose from a list or search for an interest that you would like to use.

Examples

We came up with a few possible scenarios that you may be able to refer in order to get your Add off the ground. For Example, you can use the Sports and Fitness interest to promote a weight loss product, or an exercise guide to men from 18- 40. Alternatively you can promote a weight loss guide under Beauty and Wellness, to women between the ages of 18 – 40.

The possibilities are endless, its up to you to come up with your own Ad ideas and get to work making your Ad successful.

Getting Rid Of Your Swipe Gripes – How To Write Email Swipe

Hi All!

Ever wondered how internet marketers use their lists to make sales? Some people may have access to the secrets of internet marketing, but for you to start making money online you would only need to know the basics.

In this article, we will cover some of the easiest, no brainer methods for you to write your own swipe emails to your subscribers and put your list to work.

The easiest way for you to get started is to open a new, blank email. The first step is often the hardest, and this is no exception.

Getting Started.

Before we start, we need to determine what bad swipe emails looks like.

1.) Subject line does not incite interest

The email does nothing if the leads do not click on your emails, so, the first step is to attract the attention and interest of your lead before you market to them.

With some practice and testing, you will improve your swipe emails if you base your strategy on making titles that would attract the curiosity of your readers. Some simple titles that you can use right now, like “Did you see this weird offer?” or “I almost forgot about this strange method” would give you the ability to develop and expand your email titles.

2.)The email body is boring

So your lead just clicked your email, and he’s taking a look at your email body. Now what?

What you need, at this point, is an email body that won’t put your current lead to sleep. Getting him to click is hard, but getting him to stay and look at your offer is even harder.

The easiest way to keep your leads interested in your offer and looking at your email copy is to ensure that your emails are to the point. No one wants to be led on a wild goose chase through your email copy, and most people would rather exit that than go through the trouble of reading through a lengthy, off topic and boring email.

3.) The Offer Link is not effective

If you have managed to get your customer attention, and his interest, you can now get him to take a look at your offer.

Now at this point, you would normally give your lead a link to click, but some people have different techniques to get that click more often.

There are many styles of marketers, some people would use a domain redirect to conceal their link, or some form of click tracker to do so. However, other methods do exist.

It’s common to have the links in their original URL form, but some people would prefer to have their links shown as a hyperlinked body of text. There’s a simple, visual difference to this.

Here are some examples of how a link could look like in your email copy:

1.) ewenchia.com

2.)ewenchia.com

3.)Click Here!

4.)” I have a secret, one time only offer that will be closed in the next seven minutes.”

5.) Psst! Don’t miss out on our special offer: ewenchia.com

I hope that this article has helped you to get your first email advertising campaign off the ground, and ready to make you commissions.

Learning About Youtube Ads

Advertising on one of the largest Ad platforms on the internet.

Youtube is the largest video sharing platform on the internet right now, and is constantly ranked in the top 5 websites visited on the internet. With this incredible amount of traffic, Youtube is able to serve Ads to nearly any demographic, any race, language, or religion; at any location, and at any time. Even the most obscure niches can be reached and advertised to. If you can think it, you can Advertise to it with a few clicks on Adwords.

How can you get your Ad on Youtube?

Youtube runs its Ads through the Google Adwords platform, with the same platform being used for multiple forms of traffic at the same time. With Google Adwords you can deliver your Ad to any of the platforms controlled by Google.

You can Add text Ads to searches, banner and text Ads to their network of Advertisers, or video Ads to their Youtube Ads in seconds with Adwords. But for this article we are focusing on just Youtube Ads.

Youtube has two forms of Ads, video Ads, and search Ads.

Search Ads

When you search for a video, a sponsored post will appear at the top of your search results, this is very much self explanatory, but what you may not know is that you can use such Ads in a targeted manner.

The same applies to banner ads.

Video discovery Ads cover the same full range of Adwords targeting options, and you can see your statistics in the same page as any of your other Google backed Ads that you ma also be running at the same time.

In Video Ads.

The second method is video Ads, these are Ads that are shown to the audience that you have chosen in the various Youtube videos that they may be watching.

In this category, you may have a few choices that you may use in order to promote your product or link.
You can consider having a 6 second Ad at the start of a video. These Ads are completely non skippable and are probably the most obtrusive and annoying Ad that you can have on a single Youtube video Ad.

The second option is an In Stream Ad, such Ads can be placed anywhere on the video, and can be skipped after five seconds of waiting. The benefit of using such Ads are the extended Ad length and the ability have the Ad placed in any point of the video.

In the next article, we will cover how you can get your first Youtube ad up. Stay tuned!

Filming Your Own Videos On A Budget: Learn How You Can Get A Professional Looking Video Without Breaking The Bank

Over the past decade or so, smartphones have become commonplace. Now, it is very normal for the average person to own a smartphone, or two. While there have been great improvements in the video quality, and audio quality, people are still unable to make good, high production quality videos happen. That’s because the phone may have a high quality camera that can take excellent images and videos, but it would definitely not possess the additional features that would be needed for your video to have production quality that is on par with most professional video setups.

As technology improves, we have many new devices that could assist us in video production, even at a budget. Here, we will take a look at how you can drastically improve your video and audio quality, and make polished, professional looking videos with just your smartphone.

There are three key areas that can be improved, for the average video. Namely, these areas would be the video stability, lighting, and audio quality.

A Shakycam image isn’t very useful, even with professional cameras.

Video Stability

Stabilizing video is quite a simple affair recently, with many devices coming up in the past few years that provide stable video for a very low price.

Stabilization rigs have gone down in price, the thousand dollar rigs of the past have been replaced by simple and easy to use 3 axis gyroscopic stabilizers that can be used by anyone with nearly no training at all.

For less than a good meal for the whole family, you can get a 30 dollar stabilizer for your cameraphone or DSLR, if you have one. And for twice of that, you can get a rig that would be able to provide a more stable experience.

With these, you can take smoother video without much experience on how to use expensive professional stabling rigs.

There are also cheap motorized options that provide an absolutely butter smooth video stabilization experience.

Lights, camera, action!

Lighting

Lighting is more difficult, there are plenty of options that will provide better image quality, and they will perform differently to the conditions that are currently at hand. An LED light would useless when you’re outdoors, but a reflector can’t reflect any light if there is no light at night. Lamps are very powerful, and very cheap, but they won’t work if they have no power source.

With Lighting you will have to think of the best choice for you. If you have a space that you could make into a home studio, you would be better off with a few cheap lamps from your local big box store. However if you spend most of your time filming outdoors you would benefit from a portable video light. If you’re on a tight budget even a flashlight would do a decent job.

Microphones can mean a whole world of difference, for good and bad audio.

Audio is the easiest to improve, and it does not cost much at all for you to get professional sounding audio equipment. For most smartphone users, the go to mic has always been the Videomic Go and Me microphones. With these two mics, you can get excellent audio quality without spending hundreds of dollars on a nice Shure mic.

If you are looking for other microphone designs, you could also consider the lavelier, condenser, and lapel mics available on the market. These microphones are able do better in specialized situations, while Rode mics are more suitable for general usage.

With all this information at your fingertips, you can now make your videos look and sound clearer, and without spending an insane amount on a production crew.
